The house consists of a living room on the lower level and a kitchen and a bedroom which is located at higher level due to the Siminehrood River rises during the rainy seasons. The river rise level is such that water practically surrounds the project. Therefore, the whole project is situated on two different levels but above ground level. The link between the two levels (living room on one level and the kitchen and bedroom on a higher level) is possible through a decorative staircase in the living room. Level difference has enabled bedroom to protrude and become a significant element in the whole mass. stair and the handmade wood fireplace buried in the living room floor are such designed that has been placed as component elements next to the general elements to gain equal value (for example fireplace has the same value as bedroom).
whole living room has placed on base course to prevent water intrusion into the room and The same height of 60 cm base course has created a platform in front of the living room facing the garden. A continuous empty space has been designed between the platform and the living room to prevent the intrusion of rainwater in the spring or the winter’s melting snow, and covered with mountain rocks placed side by side. The water conduces from inner folds of rocks to the lower canal and then conduces back through drainage pipes laid in the floor to the garden.
The location of the project is not such that we can see it whenever we want. It’s behind the walls. Among the apple trees, only visible at far distance. With a big wall of glass facing to the garden, Depending on the user's presence inside or outside. extending the garden inwards and inversely inwards along apple trees folds.
The goal of project was to be a “place”. Simply a” P.L.A.C.E”. Habitant can feel the place at their presence in there. Here, for us, architecture was an effort to define” being “in its genuine sense. A kind of return to the origin. A synchronicity of mankind and architecture. Either seen as a whole with a common point named “being “. As if they were for years. We wanted “is there “to mean “was there “. Let No one feels it’s been created but it was there for years. Perspicuous in winter Unlike spring and summer, when the place is hidden among trees. A blue mass amid the whiteness of snow.
